HOW TO GET THERE

Kotagiri is one of the main towns in the Nilgiris and can be easily reached by road from Coimbatore, Mettupalayam, Coonoor or Udhagamandalam. The nearest airport is at Coimbatore. The nearest railhead is at Mettupalayam. We could also get to Kotagiri from Bangalore which is in Karnataka State. Taxis are readily available everywhere.

ABOUT KOTAGIRI (TOWN)

Kotagiri is a beautiful little town and has a few good hotels. The main occupation of the people in Kotagiri is agriculture, tea industry and floriculture. The local people speak a dialect called Badagu. Everyone understands, Tamil, Hindi and also English.

In and around Kotagiri there are some sightseeing places, Mr. John Sullivan's Bungalow (the first Englishman who came into Kotagiri), Kodanad View Point, Catherine Falls and a couple of parks.
